How An Energy Efficient Restaurant Can Suffer From High Overhead Costs

Even the most energy efficient commercial ovens and range hoods are inefficient, because they are designed to cool and heat food to varying degrees. The only way to reduce these energy usage percentages substantially is to install efficient appliances which are also certified with an energy star-certified seal. As the need to reduce energy usage continues to mount, more restaurants will see that improving the quality of their appliances will pay off for them both financially and in terms of customer satisfaction.

Even within the realm of ovens, there are a number of ways that commercial energy management can help. Energy star certified ovens are designed to use less electricity and are less harmful to the environment than older, non-certified ovens. Some models have adjustable temperatures which allow a chef to create the exact foods that he wants for his particular menu. And, energy-efficient ovens often use less fuel, which means that not only are you doing your part to save the planet but that you are also saving money on the purchase price of your new oven. Not only that, but often a combination of energy efficient appliances and a more economical model will result in a smaller initial investment.

If you have food service businesses such as pizza restaurants, sit down, close your eyes and think about how much money you could be saving, not just in the short term but in the long run. In addition to energy efficiency, food service businesses, which also offer appliances and electronics that require a high degree of automation also save money. For instance, automatic door closers and fan controllers are more cost-effective than manual door closers and fan controllers in the long run. Why?
